Letter From Our Leaders
Published March 13, 2020
To Our Business Partners –
The daily news surrounding Covid-19/Coronavirus continues to put pressure on the entire world. We are seeing growing concern in our communities, businesses, and the world at-large; and at a time when there are more questions than answers, we wanted to take a minute to ensure you of our commitment and ability to serve your business.
Specifically, we are contacting you today, to share Cottingham & Butler’s continuity plan related to the global COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic and to inform you that there are presently no substantial impacts to Cottingham & Butler’s operations. In response to COVID-19, Cottingham & Butler has created a Coronavirus Preparedness Team who is actively monitoring updates to help us navigate through this uncertain time and ensure we continue to serve our clients well.
Perhaps now more than ever, our livelihoods will be tested, and we intend to play a key role in helping to keep our clients’ businesses protected and thriving. To provide additional support, our team has launched a COVID-19 Resource Center to provide a collection of business resources and updates as your organization prepares and responds to this growing threat.
We are focused on doing everything we can to minimize the risk of exposure to our people and maintain our responsibilities to our clients. Through that lens, we will continue to make decisions with attentiveness, and that are guided by our corporate Mission and Values. Following are the precautionary measures Cottingham & Butler is taking.
Client Service
Cottingham & Butler is making every effort to ensure that the presence of COVID-19 will not affect the great work we are doing for our clients. Our offices presently remain open; however, we are adequately prepared to efficiently and effectively provide client service remotely if the need arises. We have also established remote working guidelines in each of our lines of business to help ensure we meet expectations and deliver our best work to you every day.
Health and Safety
The health and safety of our clients, employees, their families, and our communities is of critical importance to us. All Cottingham & Butler, teammates are urged to take basic preventative measures to help avoid exposure to or infection of COVID-19. We have advised employees who are ill or who have members of their household exhibiting any symptoms of respiratory illness not to report to our offices or any client sites. As a recommended approach from most public health departments, we have also implemented ‘social distancing’ strategies to reduce density of employee groups.
Travel and Meetings
For the health and safety of our clients and colleagues, Cottingham & Butler has indefinitely suspended all international and non-essential domestic travel. While we are committed to maintaining operational readiness and ensuring that our clients have access to the services, support and advice they expect from us, we have advised our teammates to consult with you on whether your offices are open or if there are any special guidelines they need to follow. If you are expecting one of our team members and there is a reason why they should not come to your site, please notify them directly. We are ready to tailor our approach to meet your needs and will adjust and communicate with you in whatever way is most suitable to you.
Additionally, we have asked the team to indefinitely suspend attendance at all events and conferences, and will be cancelling all in-person events that were to be hosted by Cottingham & Butler for the foreseeable future. There will be more information shared on the future status of these events coming soon.
Cottingham & Butler values our relationship, and we commit to staying connected with you and helping you through this unprecedented situation. If you have any questions, concerns or if there is anything we can do to help you at this time, please reach out to your Cottingham & Butler representative.
