Cottingham & Butler Trucking Benchmark Survey | 10 Year Anniversary
Author: Jackie Ronning
2018 was an exciting year as it marked 10 years of Cottingham & Butler’s Trucking Benchmark Survey on Compensation and Benefits. The survey launched in 2008 in response to feedback from our clients who were looking to ensure they were offering a competitive benefits package to recruit and retain drivers, while not overspending, in the midst of the financial crisis. Over the past 10 years, trucking companies across the country have come to rely on the data provided by the annual benchmark survey to build their benefits strategies. We are proud to be able to produce this high quality benchmark report, which has grown into a nationally recognized resource in the industry.
The annual survey includes information on compensation, benefits offered, medical plan design, employee contributions, cost containment strategies, wellness, and more. To mark the 10-year anniversary of the survey, this year’s results also included historical data to highlight what both employers and employees have seen over the last decade as it relates to their benefits programs.
The 2018 annual trucking benchmark survey results were published in the late summer. Copies of the trucking benchmark results are provided to companies who participate in the annual survey, which has grown each year. Our 2019 survey will be launching after the first of the year and we would encourage all motor carriers with 50 or more power units to participate. We understand that offering competitive benefits remains a priority for most trucking companies, as they look to recruit and retain drivers. We hope that this resource continues to provide you with the information you need to stay ahead of the curve.
